The Psychology
Most changes fail. And it's seldom a technical failure.
Software implementations, new ways of working, corporate initiatives, ____________ , either fall short of expectations, cost more than planned or are never adopted.
The dynamics of change -- turning a good idea into reality -- involves a psychological process: Thinking (the good idea) needs to become Action (the new reality).
Oddly, even good ideas are resisted. Odder still, "Resistance is good."
Many theories abound -- but few are modeled and applicable like The Tipping Point Model of Change, by Andrea Shapiro. As a certified Tipping Point Workshop facilitator I quickly teach your organization the techniques to create lasting, sustainable change. Huge efforts can have frustratingly small effect on implementing change, while sometimes smaller efforts in the right context can have big effects. The Tipping Point workshop provides a model to understand these conundrums and facilitates dialogue so your whole team can see the big picture.
Caution!
Don't touch that knob!
"Step away from the change."
Until you know which lever to move in combination with the other levers, it's better not to attempt any change at all.
Remember: Most change efforts fail. Do you know why?
